Effets de Matière was born from a long-standing friendship and a shared passion for materials, craftsmanship, and beauty.
Behind the brand lie two paths linked by childhood and united by expertise: one rooted in the application and technical mastery of polished concrete in France, the other driven by design, aesthetic sensibility, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
For nearly twenty years, we shaped surfaces in Europe, exploring textures, natural pigments, and mineral finishes with a demanding and deeply artisanal approach. Each project was a quest for balance between raw materials and timeless elegance.
The adventure then naturally extended to Houston, USA, with the desire to bring this French expertise and attention to detail into contemporary interiors.
Effets de Matière thus became a bridge between two worlds: European artisanal rigor and American creative boldness.
Today, each creation is conceived as a unique piece. We work with materials by hand, custom-made, in close collaboration with our clients, architects and designers, to create sustainable, sensitive and profoundly unique spaces.
